Shadow Law limiting shadows cast by new downtown office towers on downtown parks is adopted.

The law and one that is passed in 1992 limits the amount of shadow that can be cast by new buildings over Boston Common and the Boston Public Garden to the first hour after sunrise or before 7 a.m. (whichever is later) and the last hour before sunset. The law is amended in 2017.*
